I’m Crystal Newsom. I've visited over 30 countries and lived in 4 continents.

Growing up in Bakersfield, California, I was always fascinated by the diverse community and the agricultural richness around me. My curiosity about the world started early and has guided me throughout my life. When I was younger, I found myself eager to learn about the driving forces behind the world's economic landscape, which ultimately led me to pursue a degree in Economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Throughout high school and college, I worked evenings and weekends in various hospitality roles. This experience not only taught me valuable skills but also shaped my future adventures. I enjoyed creating memorable experiences for guests and finding ways to improve service and efficiency. My dedication and ability to connect with both my team and clients were something I took pride in during my time in the hospitality industry.

After completing my degree, I decided it was time to follow my dream of becoming a digital nomad. Armed with my knowledge of economics and the customer service skills I developed in hospitality, I embarked on an incredible journey around the world. Traveling has allowed me to immerse myself in different cultures and landscapes while supporting myself through remote work opportunities.

My experiences as a digital nomad have enriched my life in ways I could never have imagined, and I hope my story can inspire others to consider breaking free from traditional career paths and explore the endless possibilities the world has to offer. I've learned that sometimes, the best way to grow is to step outside of our comfort zones and embrace the unknown.
